The winners of the Arts Council of York County’s 10th annual Photography and fifth annual Youth Photography Competitions were announced and presented June 19 at a public reception at the Center for the Arts in Rock Hill.
Byron Baldwin, a professional photographer, photography instructor and founding member of The Light Factory in Charlotte, selected 35 works out of 68 entries from seven cities and two states to be displayed in the exhibit in the Dalton Gallery at the Center for the Arts.
The winners of the 10th annual Photography Competition are: First, “Christopher Street Station” by Steve Moore; second, “Caleb” by Lauren Copley; third, “Abandoned” by Peter Kren; and honorable mention: “Lonely Diners” by Mark Stewart.
Baldwin also selected 70 photos to be displayed in the Youth Photography exhibit in the Lewandowski Classroom Gallery at the Center for the Arts.
The recipients of the Youth Photography Competition are: First, “Going Home” by Caleb Flachman; second, “So Far Away…” by Victoria Shackelford; third, “Contact” by Sally Frost; and honorable mentions: “Let the Bedbugs Bite” by Sean Breitkreutz, “Alleyway” by Nathan Flachman and “Kickin’ It Old School” by Victoria Shackelford.
Both exhibits run through July 27 at the Center for the Arts, 121 E. Main St, Rock Hill.
