Cooler weather and a good forecast brought anglers out for July 17 Thursday Night Tournament Trail.
“We finally had a Thursday night with cooler temperature and no chance for thunderstorms,” said trail co-organizer Erwin Gaston. “It showed in the number of people that came out to fish.”
Gaston said 42 boats showed up to figure out the Lake Wylie summer fishing pattern.
“As always someone gets it right,” Gaston said.

Steve Addington had to net his own fish and managed to get five fish in the boat that weighed 13.65 pounds.
Second place went to the team of Roy Dover and Tyler Brown with a weight of 13.33 pounds.
The big fish of the night was brought in by the team of Chris and Gary Dover, which weighed 5.79 pounds.
The weekly trail continues through the end of August with the Fish Off Sept. 5-6. Registration is at 5:20 p.m. at Buster Boyd Access Area.
Blastoff is at 6:30 p.m. Entry fees cost $40 per boat. Trail sponsors are Academy Sports, Kangaroo Express and A-1 Adams Bail Bond.
