Palisades Episcopal School middle school and kindergarten students, teachers and parent volunteers harvested more than 3,500 pounds of sweet potatoes at Barbee Farms in Concord, N.C.
The potatoes were sent to Loaves and Fishes; Opportunity House and Concord Christian Ministries in Cabarrus County; Angels and Sparrows soup kitchen in Huntersville, N.C.; and church ministries that feed seniors in Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Stanly counties.
Service integration is part of the school’s curriculum, as well as cross-grade collaboration.
