GOP women salute law enforcement
LAKE WYLIE The Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women’s Club first meeting of the year Jan. 23 was dedicated to the York County Sheriff’s Department and the county’s law enforcement officers.
York County Sheriff’s deputy Lori Kimble was joined by club president Suzanne Krause leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
The club salutes these courageous and committed public servants for putting their lives on the line daily in the service of the residents of York County.

Scouts selling BBQ Feb. 8
LAKE WYLIE Boy Scout Troop 333 will hold its annual Scout Sunday BBQ Fundraiser Feb. 8 at the River Hills Community Church.
Scouts and volunteers will serve barbecue ribs and chicken by the pound, and plates (meat, buns, coleslaw, chips, sauce and utensils) to church members and the public.
Proceeds go to High Adventure trips and camping supplies.
Clover club celebrating 65 years
CLOVER The Clover Woman’s Club will meet at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Woman’s Club Building, 234 Church St.
The Clover Woman’s Club is celebrating turning 65 years old with a birthday celebration.

LAKE WYLIE River Hills Women’s Club will meet Feb. 18 at the River Hills Country Club.
Social time begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at 12:30 p.m. and program at 1 p.m.
The program will be a presentation by Jacci Wagner of Daughters of the American Revolution focusing on genealogical research, colonial foods and traditions.

Lions selling directory ads
LAKE WYLIE River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club are selling ad space in the phone directory that reaches more than 3,000 Lake Wylie area residents and businesses. Proceeds go to local charities, including River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS.
The directory is available online and includes phone numbers for government services and officials. It also lists charities, churches, hospitals, utilities, schools, newspapers, River Hills social and services organizations, and children’s activities. One copy of this directory is delivered free-of-charge to all River Hills residents and to directory advertisers each year.

Sweet Repeat seeks donations
LAKE WYLIE Sweet Repeat Charitable Foundation seeks donations, especially furniture, for its thrift store at 4082 Charlotte Highway.
The store does not accept mattresses, computer items or televisions (unless flat screens). Donations are tax deductible.
