Wylie pros finish in top 100, as Elite trio head to Alabama Thursday

Lake Wylie professional anglers Todd Auten finished 85th with 10 fish weighing 18 pounds, 6 ounces during the three-day Southern Open 2 April 30-May 2 at Wheeler Lake, Decatur, Ala. Jason Quinn finished at 32nd with 10 fish weighing 22 pounds, 9 ounces. Chris Payne of West Blocton, Ala., won the tournament with 15 fish limit at 45 pounds, 8 ounces.

At the April 23-26 Bassmaster Elite Blue Ridge Brawl on Smith Mountain Lake in Huddleston, Va., Quinn finished at 43rd, Britt Myers, also a Bassmaster Elite angler from Lake Wylie, finished at 66th and Auten in 77th.

The next Elite head into the Southern Challenge Thursday through Sunday on Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Ala.

Current standings, according to, put Quinn at 41st, Auten tied at 51st, and Myers in the 81st position.
