•Football and Cheer sign-ups: We are accepting registrations for football and cheerleading. This is for new and returning football players and cheerleaders. You can find registration forms and requirements on our Web site at There is no draft in Pop Warner. All teams will be assigned based on age and weight requirements. Our next sign up is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 13 at Bi-Lo in lake wylie. E-mail or if you have any questions regarding either program.

• Football and Cheerleading Coaches: If you are interested in coaching football or cheerleading, please fill out the online coaches' application on the coaches' page at We will be holding a series of meetings in the next few weeks to review what is new for 2009 and welcoming new coaches coming to us from Clover and Xtreme.

• LWAA Golf Tournament: The LWAA second annual golf tournament is slated for May 29 at the River Hills Country Club. We are now accepting sponsors and teams. All information is available online. We will only be accepting 25 teams this year, so book early. We are in need of sponsors and door prizes. Proceeds from the tournament support all of our sports programs. • Softball Game Results:

May 1: LWAA 10, New Hope 0. The 12U Rebels are on a roll with a record of 4-0. Several girls really stepped up to the plate and got hits for LWAA. Amelia Albrick, Haylie Black, Kristen Ciurlik, Emma Caves and Kassidy Duke all had hits. Ericka Pence had a home run. Blake Wallert had a double, a home run and struck out eight batters allowing no hits. Great job girls!

• Baseball Game Results:

April 28: Mets 8, Pirates 7. Zack Conrad drove in Chris Carnes for the winning run in the bottom of the sixth for the Mets. Ethan Zazzaro pitched 3 and 1/3 innings to pick up the win. Tristan Wallace stood out defensively at catcher for the Mets. The Pirates were led by Garrett Lutz who hit a triple and behind the pitching of John-Mark and Nolan Mize.

April 30:

Mets 14, Tigers 5. Kaleb Strader had 3 triples and a double for the Mets. Frank Sugameli had two hits. Greg Middleton and Garret Martin each scored two runs with Chris Carnes delivering a strong pitching performance. The Tigers received a strong pitching effort from Eric Probert and Oscar Onoszco. Mac Magarity and

Landon Allbrick led the Tigers at the plate.

Giants 11, Braves 6. Dayne Tober started and pitched well for the Giants striking out 5 at the plate. At bat the Giants had 9 hits, including home runs by Ryan Shannon, Taylor Foster and Nathan Dubrouillet. Cody Copeland went 2 for 2, batting in 4 runs. Jackson Gross started for the Braves, striking out 2. Chase Calvert went 2 for 3 including a double. Taylor Franklin also went 2 for 3 at the plate. Logan McElvenny and Jarod Dollar-Seeley each had doubles.

May 2:

Giants 19, Mets 15. Cody Copeland started for the Giants, striking out six. He also hit a home run. Ryan Shannon was strong in relief, striking out four. Shannon also hit a triple. Taylor Foster went four-for-four with two doubles and a home run. Andy Brom also had a double with two runs batted in. Zach Conrad was strong at bat for the Mets. He had two triples and five runs batted in. Sean Duty also scored three runs for the Mets.

June 8-12: LWAA/ Clover High School Baseball Camp

June 13: Football and cheer registration 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Bi-Lo, Lake Wylie

June 20: Football and cheer registration 10 a.m.-2 p.m. River Hills Association building

June 27: Mandatory Pop Warner parents meeting 10 a.m. and final registration
