•Football and Cheer sign-ups: We are accepting registrations for football and cheerleading. This is for new and returning football players and cheerleaders. You can find registration forms and requirements on our Web site at There is no draft in Pop Warner. All teams will be assigned based on age and weight requirements. Our next sign up is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 13 at Bi-Lo in Lake Wylie. E-mail or if you have any questions regarding either program.

• Football and Cheerleading Coaches: If you are interested in coaching football or cheerleading, please fill out the online coaches' application on the coaches' page at We will be holding a series of meetings in the next few weeks to review what is new for 2009 and welcoming new coaches coming to us from Clover and Xtreme.

• LWAA Golf Tournament rescheduled: The LWAA Golf Tournament will be rescheduled to a fall date because of scheduling conflicts with sponsors and players. E-mail questions to

• Baseball results

May 14: Braves 10, Mets 9. Jackson Gross delivered a solid pitching performance to close out the game and Evan Johnson and Terry Hickman each had two hits for the Braves. The Mets were led by Zack Conrad who hit a grand slam and Chris Carnes who pitched three strong innings.

May 16: Mets 15, Braves 10. Aman Patel hit a triple and scored two runs for the Mets. Greg Middleton drove in two runs, and JT Killen led the Mets in pitching, striking out five. Chase Calvert pitched a strong game for the Braves, and Evan Johnson got two hits for the Braves.

June 13: Football and cheer registration 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Bi-Lo, Lake Wylie

June 20: Football and cheer registration 10 a.m.-2 p.m. River Hills Association building

June 20: LWAA Punt, Pass, Kick competition

June 27: Mandatory Pop Warner parents meeting 10 a.m. and final registration noon to 2 p.m.
