• Spring Season Party: Thank you to all the volunteers who made our Spring Season Party May 23 at the Charlotte Knights Stadium a great time for everyone. LWAA welcomed more than 550 people to the party at the ballpark. All of the children had a fun time, and everyone enjoyed food from Jim N Nick's, a ballgame and fireworks. Thank you to the Lake Wylie community for their season long support of all our spring sports.

• Football and Cheer sign-ups: We are accepting registrations for new and returning football players and cheerleaders ages 5 to 15. Registration forms and requirements are available online at There is no draft in Pop Warner. All teams will be assigned based on age and weight requirements. The next sign-up is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 13 at Bi-Lo in Lake Wylie. E-mail questions to or

• Football and Cheerleading Coaches: If you are interested in coaching football or cheerleading, please fill out the online coaches' application on the coaches' page at We will be holding a series of meetings in the next few weeks to review what is new for 2009 and welcoming new coaches coming to us from Clover and Xtreme.

• Upcoming Dates

June 13: Football and cheer registration 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Bi-Lo, Lake Wylie

June 20: Football and cheer registration 10 a.m.-2 p.m. River Hills Association building

June 20: LWAA Punt, Pass, Kick competition

June 27: Mandatory Pop Warner parents meeting 10 a.m. and final registration noon to 2 p.m.
