Lake Wylie Library posts July events

Lake Wylie Public Library will offer the following programs this month:

• Pinocchio, 10:30 a.m. Friday for ages 12 and younger. Experience a fantastic retelling of Italy's oldest puppet tale by Lee Bryan Puppets. Made possible with a grant from The Jim Henson Foundation Inc.

• Headband Making Workshop, 11 a.m.-noon Saturday for rising sixth-12th graders. Using playful objects, including buttons, feathers and ribbon, participants will have the opportunity to leave with one or more unique headbands or barrettes. Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own materials, as well.

• Moonlight Stories, 10:30 a.m. July 17 for ages 12 and younger. Enjoy a child-centered recreation of the African storytelling tradition, with mesmerizing drumming and dance, spirited call and response songs, and fun-filled audience participation by Orisirisi African Folklore.

• Little Red Riding Hood, 10:30 a.m. July 24 for ages 12 and younger. Big laughs, audience participation and a lesson in following the rules are all part of this rollicking adaptation of a classic fairy tale by Porkchop Productions.
