Pirate Dash runs Feb. 28

The Pirate Dash begins at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 and runs through The Landing.

The Pirate Dash, hosted by Focus Physical Therapy and Fitness with help from ROTC students at Clover High School, benefits the Layne family’s adoption of a Bulgarian orphan.

Costumes are encouraged. Cost is $25 online, or $15 for ages 6-11. Race day price increases to $30.

Eat and run Feb. 28 in Rock Hill

The inaugural Krispy Kreme Race-Run 4 Reading begins at 8 a.m. Feb. 28 in Rock Hill.

The run consists of a 4-mile loop beginning and ending at Winthrop University with a brief stop in the new downtown Rock Hill Fountain Park, where participants will be challenged to eat a dozen doughnuts before racing back to the finish line.

There will be a 1-mile Campus Fun Walk and a Kidz Fun Zone. Strollers, children and families welcome.

Proceeds go to The Early Learning Partnership of York County, a nonprofit organization, supporting health and academic readiness of children ages 5 and younger in York County.

Powder Run March 14 at Bethelfields

A March 14 St. Paddy’s Bethelfields 5K Powder Run starts at Bethelfields pool, 2513 Ivy Creek Ford, York.

The second annual event benefits Gavin Slade Jones Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Participants will be given a map of the route and are encouraged to wear white, along with St. Patrick’s Day attire, to pass multiple colored powder stations. There will be water stations throughout the race.

The third annual Superhero 5K Run/Walk is scheduled April 18 at Anytime Fitness, Evergreen Road, benefiting Lake Wylie Children’s Charity.

New leagues begin in Lake Wylie

Lake Wylie Bowl N’ Bounce is offering new leagues:

• Senior Bowling League at 10 a.m. Mondays for men and women age 50 and older of all experience levels. Come an individual or bring a team.



• Fellowship Bowling League at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Bring a team from church or come as an individual. Begins Feb. 10.
