The Indian Land boys baseball team performed much better in Region play, but lost all three games.
Losing 9-4 to start the week against non conference opponent Sun Valley, the Warriors had eight hits, but couldn't overcome a shaky first inning that led to five runs.
Senior Alex Matzeit and junior Chad Jones paced Indian Land with two hits apiece. Driving in runs with were Alex Rodriguez, Chad Carlton, and Tyler Watkins all with one RBI.
After falling behind 7-2 after three innings, the Warriors could have let this one get away fast, but better team fielding, only making two errors, and pitching by sophomore Daniel Thomas kept the game close.

"We just needed a couple of key hits with runners on, but couldn't get it done," said head coach Kevin Durham.
Against Chesterfield, the Warriors battled with heart, trailing only 3-1 after five innings.
However, that one fateful inning showed up again in the sixth as starting pitcher senior Andy Sawyer was tagged for four runs as the Rams took a 7-1 lead and held it for the rest of the game.
Sawyer pitched a complete game which gave the bullpen some much needed rest, but with only four hits by the Warriors, was tough to overcome the six run deficit.
