The Fort Mill Lady Jackets soccer team grabbed two more wins this season, beating both Lancaster and Northwestern.
Against Lancaster,the Lady Bruins defense proved to be tough as the Lady Jackets had 22 shots on Lancaster--five of which hit the net.
After 23 minutes of going back and forth with Lancaster, sophomore Taylor Parker made the first score. At the 34th minute mark, sophomore Sarah Wilson assisted freshman Kaitlyn Marr in a second goal, making the score 2-0 to end the half.
Fort Mill switched up a few positions in the second half allowing senior Ashleigh Sheets to score two more goals. Sophomore Becca Tooley wrapped up the game with the last goal at the 66th minute of game time.
Against Northwestern, the Lady Jackets quickly showed they meant business. They scored twice in the first 17 minutes of the game.
Freshman Hali Singleton took a pass from senior Lexi Wilden and was able to make the first goal at the three minute mark. After a 14 minute battle for possession, Wilson passed the ball to Wilden who placed the ball in the net for a 2-0 game.
In the second half, the Lady Jackets proved to be merciless and kept taking more shots on Lancaster's net. While the Lady Trojans played a great defensive game, they never had a shot on goal.
The recent success has moved Fort Mill from number 15 to eighth in the state 4A rankings.
