Fort Mill's boys golf team finished sixth in the T.W. Memorial golf tournament last week.
Fort Mill shot a two-day total of 627. Led by Bryan Otis, who made the All-tournament team, with rounds of 75-74, Fort Mill played well in a very windy setting.
The Jackets were only out of first place by seven strokes going into the second day. Fort Mill struggled from 50 yards in and it cost them, head coach Steve Gribble said.
"We have to continue to work on the short game, leaving a lot of seven and eight -footers out there and shots from 35 to 40 yards in," he said. "We have to get better there also."

Senior Jason Hnat followed behind Otis, shooting a 75-77 for a 152. Senior Clay Butler was next, shooting a 155 (79-78) and senior Tyler Forbes shot 171 with back-to-back rounds of 83.
Earlier in the week, Fort Mill won a three-way match over Forestview and Ashebrook in Gastonia.
Otis, shot a three-under 33 to lead Fort MIll, while Butler, Hnat and senior Scott Boston, all put in rounds of 40 to give the Jackets a 150. That beat Forestview's 153 and Ashebrook's 193.
In head-to-head and three-way meets this year, Fort Mill is 7-0.
Up next, the Jackets will be representing the state in the Georgia/South Carolina Cup this weekend.
"We better have our A game ready," Gribble said.
