Bug bitten: Fort Mill falls after making several errors

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets baseball program has had a couple of bug bites of its own to deal with lately.

Fort Mill dropped the past two game, 3-0 to Northwestern and 5-2 to Lancaster, each time making four errors, some critical.

Now 7-4 overall and 3-3 in Region III, Fort Mill looks to get back on track this week against South Pointe and Nation Ford.

Against Northwestern, Fort Mill managed just three hits has senior Jimmy Moody got the loss and fell to 2-1 overall.

Moody didn't pitch poorly, but tired in the seventh inning. He gave up just one earned run in six and two-third innings, while striking out three and walking four.

Northwestern scored a run in the top of the third inning off an error and a walk. They would add the final two runs in the seventh inning off two singles and two walks.

Senior catcher Michael Baker got two of Fort Mill's three hits, going 2-2 in the game.

One bad inning against Lancaster was all it took in the loss. Lancaster scored five runs in the fifth inning as Fort Mill clung to a 1-0 lead entering the inning.

Senior Garrett Koster went 2-4 with two RBIs for Fort Mill. Senior Charlie McCready picked up the loss falling to 3-1 as he was pulled in the fifth inning.
