Sara Elizabeth McDermott and Matthew Scott Threatt of Greenville were married Oct. 6, 2007, at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Greenville.
Mrs. Threatt is the daughter of Larry and Lucile McDermott of Daytona Beach, Fla., and the groom's parents are Carolyn Threatt of Fort Mill and the late Bill Threatt of Rock Hill.
The Rev. James L. Friday performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore a strapless gown of white satin and taffeta. Beading and embroidery adorned the bodice and the full-length train. She carried a bouquet of hand-tied wine roses, white stephanotis and greenery.
Maid of honor was Sherri Beach of Tampa, Fla. She wore a strapless, full-length gown of wine satin with ivory sashes. Bridesmaids were Sarah Kemmerer of Greenville, Lauren Pennacchini of Daytona Beach and Susan Stroud, sister of the groom, of Lancaster.
Honorary bridesmaid was Lydia Toney of Daytona Beach, sister of the bride.
They wore strapless, full-length gowns of wine satin with matching sashes.
Flower girls were Gloria Toney, niece of the bride, Kathryn Little, and Elizabeth Little, cousins of the groom. Ring bearer was Sam Little, cousin of the groom.
Eric Morgan of Fort Mill was best man. Ushers and groomsmen were Grant Beason of Fort Mill, cousin of the groom, Kyle Cromer of Greenville, and Jeremy Stroud of Lancaster, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were James Chisholm and Dave Chisholm of Greenville.
A reception was held at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville. After a wedding trip to the mountains of North Carolina, the couple settled in Greenville.
The bride graduated from North Greenville University and is employed at United Parcel Service in Greenville. The groom graduated from North Greenville University and is employed at Presbyterian College in Clinton.
