Indian Land gets first win on links

The Indian Land golf team fell to 1-4 on the year after losing to Buford last week.

Indian Land lost 165-204. The Warriors were led by Chase Hunter, who shot a 46. His score was followed by a 51 from Zach Brigman and Jerrick Spence, and Brandon Thomas shot a 56 to round out the scoring.

The one win Indian Land did get was against Andrew Jackson at its new home course of Carolina Lakes Golf Course in Sun City. The Warriors edged Andrew Jackson winning 202-208.

Hunter again led the way with a 40 this time around. Spence followed with a 49. Clay Holcomb shot a 55 and Brigman finished with a 58.

The win against Andrew Jackson was a big one for the team. It was the second time they had played the team this season, having lost 167-196 the first time.

Indian Land has just four more regular season matches, including playing Nation Ford April 14, before its Region III-A tournament April 28 in Chesterfield.
