Rain soaking Falcons' play

If there was one thing the Nation Ford Falcons baseball team has had plenty of last week, that would be rain.

The team's games at the Savannah River Slugfest were rained out Saturday and it will be playing the tournament early this week.

Last Thursday, Nation Ford's game against Northwestern was rained out as well.

The team only played one game against Rock Hill, falling 7-3. Despite six errors by Rock Hill, Nation Ford struggled.

Rock Hill took an early 3-0 lead after one inning. The Falcons tied things up by scoring two runs in the third inning and one in he fourth.

But it was in the top of the fifth that Rock Hill unleashed four runs to seal the game. Defensively, Nation Ford played well, only making two errors.

Junior Kent Peterson got the start, but was pulled in the fifth inning for sophomore Nick Agrawal.

Nation Ford did struggle some at the plate getting only one extra base hit, that being off the bat of sophomore catcher Ben Boykin, who went 1-4 with a double.

The loss drops Nation Ford to 5-11 and 3-8 in Region III-AAAA.
