With two sub-par performances by seniors Jason Hnat and Michael Kozlowski, Fort Mill beat Nation Ford on the links at Springfield last week.

Fort Mill outlasted its newest rivals 148-168 on the Falcons' home course.

Both Hnat and Kozlowski, shot one under par 35 to lead Fort Mill. The win put Fort Mill at 12-0 in head-to-head or three-way competition this season. The loss dropped Nation Ford to 7-4.

Besides Hnat and Kozlowski, Fort Mill seniors Scott Boston and Bryan Otis also played well, each shooting 39.

For Nation Ford, leading the way was seventh-grader Corey Verhage, who shot a two over par 38. His score was followed by Falcons' number one player sophomore Brett Snyder's 42, eighth-grader Evan Mathis 43 and freshman A. J. Rosengarth's 45.

Earlier in the week, Nation Ford won a four-way match against Rock Hill, Clover and York.

The Falcons shot 164, besting Clover by four strokes and beating both Rock Hill and York by nine, with them both shooting a 173.

Snyder led with a 39, followed by Rosengarth and junior Garrett Bruce each shooting a 41. Verhage followed with a 43 to finish the scoring for Nation Ford.
