Fort Mill advances record by defeating Clover

The wet weather couldn't stop the Fort Mill boys tennis team from advancing its record to 8-4 after defeating Clover last week.

After coming off a tough loss against Charlotte Latin, the Yellow Jackets scored big points against Clover.

Winning for the team were William Reigel 6-3, 6-1; Robbie Davis 6-0, 6-1; Kyle Orsburn 6-4, 6-4; Chase Lee 7-5, 6-3; Jordan Luken 6-2, 6-2 and in doubles action Daniel Proctor/Jon Ernst 6-3, 4-6, 10-4.

The team continued on with practices for the week, but got rained out of their match Thursday against Rock Hill.

The team is on break for spring break and will return back to play on Monday. Once it returns from spring break, the team will have five more Region III-AAAA matches to play including one against Nation Ford April 22.

Also, the team will have to make up its match against Rock Hill.

• April 17 at South Pointe, 5 p.m.

• April 22 vs. Nation Ford, 5 p.m.
