With daytime temperatures pushing well past 90 and just a sprinkling of rain the past few weeks, we've all been feeling the heat.

For those with cabin fever - air conditioning or not - neighborhood pools and parks have been a good place to cool off.

Some relief is in sight. Forecasters predict passing showers this week, and temperatures are expected to dip into the normal high-80s range. Weather experts do warn that a repeat of last year's drought appears not only possible, but probable.

"What we see so far this year compared to a year ago, it looks like we're pretty close to being on track [for another drought]," said Frank Strait, a meteorologist with accuweather.com. "It seems it will be relatively dry for the next 60 to 90 days."
