Gold Hill Middle School defeated Sullivan in basketball 34-17 last week. Leading scorers for the Bulldogs were Michael Scurlock with 16, and Jesse Horine with seven. Five other players for Gold Hill also scored.

Falcons' freshmen beat South Pointe
The Nation Ford ninth-grade boys basketball team defeated visiting South Pointe Dec. 1 40 - 23.
Led by the scoring of Brandon Sturdivant, (14), JT Boyd, (six), and Ben Fountain, (six), the Falcons turned in a fabulous defensive performance, holding the Stallions scoreless in the second period and allowing only three points in the third.
While holding the Stallions' offense to a minimum, the Falcons were able to score 24 points during those two periods. Up next for the Falcon freshmen are the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets Thursday, Dec. 4, at Nation Ford. Game time is at 7 p.m.
Jackets' JV wins
Fort Mill High's JV boys basketball team beat Rock Hill 52-35 last week. High scorers for Fort Mill were Dwayne Grainger and Tay Mackey with 10 points each.
In their second game, the JV Jackets defeated Eltham (Australia) 58-46. Fort Mill's leading scorers were Mark Blackmon and Brandon Cessna with 16 points each.

The Tega Cay Recreation Department is developing a youth lacrosse program for girls and boys in grades one through six.

Showmars in Indian Land has partnered with the Indian Land Athletic Booster Club to offer Booster Club Nights. A portion of their proceeds are donated to the club and used to fund scholarships to athletes at Indian Land High School. The dates are: Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 10, April 21 and May 12.
