Angelfood adds new site

Flint Hill Baptist Church, 269 Flint Hill Road, Fort Mill, was named a Host Site for Angelfood Ministries. The program, which is open to everyone, provides a box of food that will feed a family of four for a week.

The cost is $30 for $60 worth of food and there are several menus to choose from, including one designed for seniors. The food is distributed once a month. For more information, visit and click on "Anglefood" or call 548-0672.

Free concert

Public prayer event May 7

Christians of all denominations are invited to join in Prayer for America, the 58th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer 12:20-12:40 p.m. Thursday, may 7, at outside Fort MIll Town Hall, 112 confederate Street.

Lake Wylie Lutheran offers support

Lake Wylie Lutheran, 2906 Hwy. 160 West at Gold Hill Road, is offering a "Career Transition Support Ministry" that includes sharing faith stories and connections.

"For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope" (Jeremiah 29:11). The purpose of this ministry is to provide confidential, Christian fellowship for those making job or career changes to discuss feelings, common issues and practical actions during their transition time.

Participants engage in sharing their situation and what they are looking to do. Facilitators and other participants as well provide feedback and ideas to help focus on successful action plans while strengthening a faith relationship with God.

The meetings are scheduled 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and are facilitated by the Stephen Ministers of Lake Wylie Lutheran Church. For more information, contact

Church offers medical equipment

Unity Presbyterian Church maintains a medical equipment supply closet with donated items such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, portable bedside commodes, toilet risers, shower chairs, walkers, crutches, canes and more. Call 547-5543.

Ultimate Life offers school, 'Mom's morning'

Ultimate Life Preschool and Ultimate Life Academy is now enrolling students for 2008-09. Children have fun while learning sound educational principles.

Get the 'glow'

Aglow, a transdenominational organization or Christian women, meets 7-9 p.m. the fourth tuesday of each month at a private home in Regent Park. Aglow groups are in approximately 165 nations around the world with more than 1,400 local groups in the U.S. The heart of the organization is local fellowships. Small groups studies, care (support) groups, retreats, and annual conferences make up the Aglow year. It is a network of caring women as well as a faith-building organization. Master Club in swing

Bible Baptist Church, 255 S. Hwy. 21 Bypass in Fort Mill, offers a Master Club 7:15-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays for kids in preschool through grade six. Teen program underway

Bible Baptist Church launched a new series for the Wednesday evening teen program. Also, the church's children's program, Master's Club, is in full swing. Both programs run from 7:15-8:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

New church offering classes

World Outreach Center Community Church, a 130 Heritage Blvd. is offering a series of classes for Christian artists and musicians.

Holy Creativity classes will meet Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Songwriting I and Tiffy's Art classes will meet Mondays at 8:05 p.m. The classes cost $150 each or two for $250. Sisk offers clothes, baby formula

The Sisk Memorial Clothes Closet is open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday at 118 Spratt St. in Fort Mill, next to the Sisk Memorial Family Life Center. Clothes for children and adults in need - jackets, sweaters, shoes, pants, skirts, etc., are available at no charge.

Also available at this time is powdered baby formula for mothers who need it.
