Mr. Kevin Thomas Barfield, 29, of Indian Land, has peacefully left this world for a greater life at home with Jesus! Kevin passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Pineville, N.C., Rehab Nursing Home after having battled a traumatic brain injury resulting from an auto accident in Aug. 2007.

A memorial service celebrating Kevin's life and visitation was held May 15 at Forest Hills Church in Charlotte. A graveside service followed at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.

Kevin was brought into this world May 22, 1980 and the family celebrates his new life in the Kingdom of God and Heaven, where he has healed and become whole again and full of joy.

Although Kevin's earthly life was cut short, he did manage to find a challenge which he met and enjoyed, selling automobiles at a local auto dealer. Kevin's hobbies were fishing and working as a DJ, going by the name of "DJ Spleen."

Kevin was a fun-loving, gentle soul and is being greeted at the Gates by his maternal grandfather, John W. Hill; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Moore Hill; his Aunt Helen Bailey; Aunt Dorothy Rowe; Uncle Walton Hill; paternal grandfather, Wesley Barfield; Aunt Cindy Barfield Stewart; all who predeceased Kevin, in God's eternal Glory.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Vickie Hill Robertson; his father, Thomas Franklin Barfield; his stepfather, Tom Robertson; his paternal grandmother, Margaret C. Barfield; a sister, Stephanie Marie Barfield; a brother, Keith Wesley Barfield; a stepsister, Hollis Robertson Neal; and his stepbrother, Tom Robertson IV.

Alvin Moore

Mr. Alvin Freeman Moore, 83, of Brevard, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the Oaks of Brevard.

The funeral service was May 6, 2009, in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Allen Thompson and Lee Ray Green officiating. Burial was in Connestee Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County.

A native of Transylvania County, N.C., he was the son of the late Charlie Daniel Moore and Nettie Galloway Moore. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ola Masters Moore and his second wife, Edna Totherow Moore; four brothers, Arthur, Ernest, Alfred Louis and J.C. Moore; and two sisters, Shirley Galloway and Ruby Thompson.

Mr. Moore was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, and he worked at the Celanese plant in Rock Hill, S.C. for 41 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda M. Adcock and her husband, Alex, of Brevard; his son, Wayne Moore and wife, Paula, of Rock Hill; two stepdaughters, Lynn Tollison and her husband, Ron, and Sarah Pitts and her husband, Mike, all of Fort Mill; a brother, Danny Moore of Pisgah Forest; a sister, Grace Ogburn of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Robin Keller and her husband, Dan, of Charlotte, Ashley Moore and Jarred Moore, both of Rock Hill;two step grandchildren, Angie Reiking and Matt Tollison; three great-grandchildren, Richard and Brandon Keller and Claire Moore; and a special niece, Kelly Snipes.

Stanley Haraburda

Mr. Stanley Haraburda, 86,of Fort Mill, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at the Wayne Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.

A memorial service was private with burial at the Veterans Cemetery in Columbia.

Robert Hathcock

Mr. Robert Jess Hathcock, 89, of Link St., Fort Mill, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hathcock followed in the Wolfe Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John L. Warren, Jr. officiating. Burial was at Unity Cemetery.

Gregg Allen Bishop

Mr. Gregg Allen Bishop, 46, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at his home.

The funeral was held in Minden, La.
