On May 7, I went to the Towne Tavern in Fort Mill to meet six of our Carolina Panthers. They were in town for an event to welcome back Connor McKemey of Tega Cay, who had been in the hospital recovering from burns he suffered in an accident.
At around 4:30 p.m., it was time to go. But, what I didn't know was I'd be in line for two hours! And yet, about an hour and 10 minutes later, I met the master mascot, Sir Purr!
I had brought my first ever Jake Delhomme jersey and a "2003 NFC Champions, Carolina Panthers" T-shirt. He signed my T-shirt for me and my dad and I got a picture to go with it. Guess all that time in line was about to become worth it.
Then, 30 minutes later, the first few people went in. My dad went to get me a license plate from Thunder Athletics, where my friend Cameron's dad works. After nearly 45 minutes, we had made it in to the Towne Tavern.

Almost time for autographs!
Ten minutes later, I saw my favorite football player of all time, Delhomme! I went in to meet them just two minutes later.
I met Delhomme, Jordan Gross, Jon Beason, DeAngelo Williams, James Anderson and Travelle Wharton. Turns out they were really nice.
Now, what they didn't know was that the sweet little girl they met was a sports writer for a big newspaper! I'm going to get even more excited about watching Panthers games because I'll be like, "hey, didn't I meet them at Towne Tavern?!"
Well, that's all for now. Keep on reading.
