Amanda Joelle Morris, 16, of Tega Cay, died Thursday, May 14, 2009.

Memorial services were held May 19 at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church.

Once upon a time, or as the baby Amanda would say, "T'wan a pine . . .." a beautiful five-pound two-ounce princess was born and the world became a little brighter. She was named Amanda Joelle. As a little girl, Amanda was a Daisy and a Brownie and participated in ballet, T-ball, swimming, basketball and ROTC. As a teen, Amanda adored her friends and earned the respect of her teachers and employers. She loved music and movies, and also enjoyed keeping up with the news of the world through the Internet. She discovered her love and talent for photography and spent many hours capturing spontaneous images of her friends and nature.

Amanda had a kind and loving heart, and focused much of her energy on helping animals and people in need. She volunteered for the Humane Society and worked as a vet tech for Dr. Robbie Chappell. She was also involved with Habitat for Humanity and volunteered at Eden Gardens Nursing Home. Amanda was a compassionate soul, and her friends and family were blessed by her love. The world became a little less bright on May 14, 2009, when that little princess, Amanda, left it to illuminate our hearts happily ever after. Amanda was a selfless young lady who was an organ donor. Her selflessness helped to save the lives of eight people.

Amanda is survived by her mother, Liza Bartlett-Morris; her grandparents, Cecil and Linda Bartlett of Tucson, Ariz.; her Aunt Leslie (Bartlett) and uncle Dan Gottsch; cousins, Sydney and Samuel of Boise, Idaho; and her dear and special friends, the Stockman family, Craig Adams, Chris Cook, Chris Thompson, Minister Anthony Spann and wife, Shenena Spann and Delaine Vincent.
