The coaching staff at Nation Ford High School will hold its first youth wrestling camp this week.
This camp is designed to promote the sport of wrestling to the community and introduce and get to know the coaches and staff at Nation Ford High School. The camp will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 15-19.
"Fort Mill High School has had great success in the past years since Coach Chris Brock has been there. However, we want the community to know that there is another program here as well," Nation Ford Coach Paul Richardson said.
At Nation Ford's camp, participants will be placed in divisions by age and ability in order to facilitate better instruction. Topics will include stance, takedowns, riding, pinning and escapes. There will also be daily competition and games for the campers.

"We ask that all campers come dressed and ready to wrestle," Richardson said. "You will need to bring a packed lunch, T-shirt, shorts, shoes, and a towel."
Water and Gatorade will be supplied for the campers.
The camp is designed to help the young boys and girls learn the basics of wrestling, have a good time during the week, and to provide a low cost camp for the parents. The price for the camp is $50 and includes a Nation Ford Wrestling T-shirt. The camp will be staffed with coaches and wrestlers from Nation Ford High School.
"We will focus on the fundamentals of wrestling as well as games and competition for the campers," Richardson said.
