Volunteers needed to wash feet

Volunteers are needed to hand out free sneakers and wash the feet of children at sites where shoes will be distributed. St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill has agreed to serve as a host site for the Samaritan's Feet June 13 program.

Volunteers will hand out shoes, give feet washings and share uplifting words with children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It's part of a campaign that aims to deliver shoes to as many as 46,000 needy children across the state. Samaritan's Feet is a nonprofit that has gained acclaim for its relief efforts in the world's poorest countries.
