Fast Fort Mill residents can win a prize by answering Census questions

Town of Fort Mill residents who are quick to answer the Census arriving in mailboxes this week can win a prize, town officials said today. The U.S. Census Bureau has begun mailing out the 2010 Census forms. To encourage participation and support the Census Bureau's efforts, the Town of Fort Mill announced the “Mail It In and Win” promotion.

Anyone with a Fort Mill mailing address may participate in the promotion. All you need to do to enter is submit a photo of you or your family filling out or mailing your 2010 U.S. Census form. The first 50 participants with a valid photo entry will receive a free Fort Mill T-shirt.

According to a news release sent by the town, during the 2000 U.S. Census, the Town of Fort Mill had the fifth highest response rate among all cities, towns, and counties in the State of South Carolina. Digital photos may be submitted by e-mail to joecronin@comporium.net and printed photos may be delivered to the Administration Office at Town Hall at 112 Confederate St. All photos must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 7. Promotion winners will be announced on the town’s Web site www.fortmillsc.org, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/fortmillsc and on Channel 19.
