A Fort Mill woman told police she was held with a gun to her head while three robbers rummaged through her apartment, according to a Fort Mill Police report.
The armed robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Forest Ridge Apartments. The woman, 29, answered a knock at her door to find a stranger identify himself as a friend of her cousin. She didn’t recognize the man and didn’t let him inside, she told police. Then, the man and two accomplices burst inside and drew two handguns, the report states. They held a gun to the woman’s head and rummaged through her apartment, taking $250 in cash from her bedroom, the report states.

The victim told police the men asked her, “Where is the money?” And she told them she didn’t know what they were talking about, the report states. She also told police she overheard the robbers say, “This is the wrong house. She only has costume jewelry.” She believes the robbers meant to rob a different apartment, according to the report.
Police tried to track the robbers but couldn’t locate them. The woman, who was not injured, identified the intruders as black males wearing blue jeans, the report states. One of the men had a beard and wore a white bandana over his mouth.

A Fort Mill man has been charged with assault after he allegedly flipped over his mother’s bed while she was asleep in it, according to a Fort Mill Police report.
The report states the mother, age 48, called police around 5 a.m. Aug. 21 to report the incident. Police found her bed flipped upside down and belongings tossed about the room at her home on Grier Street. The woman told police her son, age 25, flipped the bed over on top of her while she slept. Police arrested the man and charged him with assault.
Earlier in the night, police responded to the same home to break-up a fight between the mother and son. The son told police that he was upset that his mother was dating a 63-year-old man, according to a separate report. After the first incident, the mother and son didn’t want to press charges.
Ladders, blower stolen from Lowe’s
Someone cut through a chain link fence and stole three ladders and a leaf blower from Lowe’s home improvement store in Fort Mill, according to a Fort Mill Police report.
The report states a store employee reported the stolen equipment. The employee on Aug. 22 told police video surveillance shows a man taking the items between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Aug. 20. The video shows a man dressed in an orange shirt and a white hat with a “C” on it cutting the fence and removing the items, the report states.
However, police stopped their investigation after loss prevention officials for Lowe’s chose to handle the incident in-house and refused to cooperate with police, the report states.
