York County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested three men today as suspects in eight armed robberies in York, Lancaster and Mecklenburg counties, including several in the Fort Mill area.
According to the sheriff’s office, the arrests occurred after clerk of the Kangaroo Express at 3473 N. Highway 21 in Fort Mill called police at 3:30 a.m. to report that a black male wearing a red bandana over his face and a red ball cap tried to “gain access to the register before fleeing the store,” a new release states. Deputies on patrol received a description of a suspect’s vehicle believed to be involved in previous convenience store armed robberies and moments later a patrol sergeant spotted the same vehicle on Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill turning on I-77,” according to the YCSO release.
Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and apprehended three people in the car identified as Dyquane Arin Billings, 21, Trevante Reshaud Bryant, 17, and Tevin Andrew Hindmon, 16. The two 16 year-old suspects are being charged as adults. “This was terrific police work by our deputies,” Sheriff Bruce Bryant said in the statement.
