NFL needs to copy other sports
All sports lovers know that any major league umpire has the sole discretion to discard any baseballs that are scuffed, marred or questionable. Likewise at all horse racing tracks, the stewards must approve the overall weight of the jockey-while holding their saddles.
The latest controversy about NFL footballs leads me to the conclusion that ALL game balls (both sides) MUST be turned over to the officials before and during the game. There is no other equitable solution.
