Don’t drop words
Reading John Marks’ article about the Lake Wylie family who narrowly escaped harm in the Brussels terrorist bombing (March 29), I could not help but notice that the words “Muslim,” “Islam,” and even “terrorist” were nowhere to be found. Was this the choice of the writer or the editors? Is the Herald still in hopelessly immature denial of the threat posed to Europe and the U.S. by the very focused and increasingly potent Muslim extremists?
At some point this newspaper will have to come to grips with the fact that the western “infidel” world is under attack by Islamism (not to be confused with the majority of peaceful Muslims). Continuing to bury your head in the sand does a disservice to your readership.
