The Nation Ford High School cross-country team split a meet with Clover recently at the Falcons’ first home meet of the year.
The Falcons girls’ team won, while the boys lost by a point. The girls won 20-64 and was led by Katie Pou, who won the race in 21:12. Her time was followed by Anna Hardymon, who finished third overall, with a time of 23 minutes flat.
Nation Ford had three of the next four runners to cross the finish line, giving them the win at the Anna Springs Close Greenway. Coming in fourth overall was Addy Rogers in 23:25 and behind her in fifth was Sam McNeil in 24:06. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Falcons was Cate Tedford finishing seventh in 24:41.
The boys’ team lost 28-29 to Clover, despite having five runners in the top 10. Leading the way for Nation Ford and finishing third overall in 19 minutes flat was Anthony Frattaroli. Just four seconds behind him in fourth was Thomas Windell at 19:04. Ryan Woods finished fifth in 19:19, before Clover took the sixth and seventh spots.

In eighth, Josh Holcombe finished in 19:43 for Nation Ford and Ben Carlson was 10 seconds behind him in ninth in 19:53.
In the Falcons’ season opener, the boys finished 20th out of 22 teams in the Eye Opener in Spartanburg and the girls finished 14th of 17 teams.
Woods led the way for the Nation Ford boys finishing in 18:36 and Frattaroli was just nine seconds behind at 18:45. For the girls’ team, Pou finished in 20:47, followed by Hardymon in 21:57.
Nation Ford will have another home meet this week facing off against Rock Hill. They will only run one more time at the Greenway this season in a meet Oct. 4 against Fort Mill.
