In their final dual meet of the season, the Fort Mill and Nation Ford track teams split, with the Lady Jackets winning 104-23 and the Nation Ford boys’ winning 76-65.
Both schools are readying for the Upper State qualifier May 9 at Spring Valley and hope to earn spots in the state meet May 16.
The Lady Yellow Jackets won the 4x400 meter relay in 4:39, while the Falcon boys won the same event in 3:36. Fort Mill swept the 4x800 relay events and Nation Ford won the boys’ 4x100 event.
Fort Mill’s Alex Loayza won the discus with a toss of 123’3” and Anika Meyers won the discus for the Lady Jackets with a throw of 99’8”.

In the 1,600 meters, Nation Ford’s Will Manning won for the boys’ in 4:46 and Anna Hardymon won for the girls’ in 5:38. Manning also won the 800 meters for the Falcons in 2:00. Ania Rzepka won the 800-metergirls’ race for Fort Mill in 2:38.
The two-mile race was swept by Fort Mill with Jeremy Ricks winning for the boys’ in 10:29 and Melissa Smith winning for the girls’ in 12:54.
In the boys’ 100-meter, Tyree Chaplin won in 11.2 seconds for Nation Ford, while Makenzie Hull won the girls’ race in 13.2 seconds for Fort Mill. Chaplin also won the long jump with 19’04.25” and the 400-meter in 50.8 seconds.
Nation Ford swept the boys’ hurdles events as Evan Welch won the 110-meter in 18.3 and Morgan Meredith won the 400-meter in 1:01.
Fort Mill’s Anna Brewer won the girls’ 400-meter hurdles in 1:09. She also won the 400-meter in 1:00. The Lady Jackets’ Mary Watson won the 100-meter hurdles in 17 seconds.
In the 200 meters, the schools split: Nation Ford’s Marion Stallings won the boys’ race in 23 seconds and Sharae Redmond won the girls’ race in 27.4 seconds. Redmond also won the high jump, clearing 5 feet.
In the shot put, Fort Mill’s LaVardis Pearson won with a mark of 41’10” and Nation Ford’s Chynna Crawford won with a throw of 33’10”.
Jackson Marshall won the boys’ triple jump for Fort Mill with a 39’01” mark and the high jump with a leap of 6 feet. Fort Mill’s Sarah Felkner won the girls’ long jump with a 14’7” leap and Myra Tall won the girls’ triple jump with a 35’4”.
In the pole vault, Nation Ford’s Chandler Burns won clearing 9 feet and Fort Mill’s Jessica Brewer won, clearing 9’6”.
