A Rock Hill man is accused of shooting his gun in the air after he fired three shots to warn teens to leave his dog alone, according to police.
Samuel Joseph Lupton, 26, is charged with illegally discharging a firearm in city limits, according to a Rock Hill police report.
At first, Lupton told police that three people were shooting at him Friday night at his Eden Terrace home, the report states. But after interviewing the teenagers, police discovered that Lupton had told them to leave his dog alone, exited his house and fired three shots into the air.
Police recovered a .22 caliber spent round from the front porch of Lupton’s house that matched from a rifle found in his house, according to the report.
