Minor damage was reported after a Rock Hill middle school was vandalized and a fire was set in a dumpster over the weekend, according to a Rock Hill police report.
On Sunday afternoon, a passerby called to report a fire coming from a dumpster at Sullivan Middle School on Eden Terrace.
Officials believe someone tossed a match in the dumpster for shredded documents, said Rock Hill School District spokeswoman Elaine Baker.
The Rock Hill Fire Department responded and put out the blaze, the report said.

Police also found a broken window, but it was a double-paned window and it wasn’t broken all the way through, Baker said.
“It appears that someone was trying to enter the building, but they were not successful,” Baker said.
Police are investigating the incident.
