A Chester teenager was shot, deputies say, while standing in the road in the county’s Eureka Mill neighborhood Tuesday night.
Deputies were sent to a 3rd Street home at about 11:05 p.m. after receiving calls about shots being fired and a victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, according to a Chester County Sheriff’s report. A neighbor told deputies he heard shots coming from the behind a house and noticed a boy, 16, had been shot in his leg.
The neighbor took the boy inside and wrapped his leg with a towel, the report states. The boy told deputies he was walking in the road in front of the house when he saw some guys standing in the backyard of a nearby home. He then heard gunshots and realized he was hit in the back of his leg.
The boy was taken to Chester Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Deputies continue to investigate the incident.
