The father of a 6-month-old girl is accused of child neglect after allegedly leaving the child alone while he went to a gas station.
Rock Hill Police officers responded to a call from a Patriot Parkway address Friday evening after the victim’s grandmother noticed several bruises and marks on the child. She also saw what may have looked like brusing on the upper right thigh, the report states. The child’s mother told her the bruises came when the child slipped in the bath tub.
The grandmother told police her concerns began when she found the child home alone on Thursday. The child’s father, Diego Solorio, was supposed to be watching her, but he arrived after the grandmother, police say.
When confronted by police, Solorio told officer he left the child at home to go to a gas station on Cherry Road. He locked the child in a bedroom as she slept, the report states. Police arrested Solorio and charged him with unlawful child neglect.
