A 16-year-old Rock Hill High School student was charged with assault and battery on Tuesday afternoon after allegedly participating in a fight over a girl in a parking lot at Northwestern High School.
The student, whose name was not released because of his age, was at the Applied Technology Center on Main Street when he saw another student in the Northwestern High School Parking lot, according to a police report. Other students told the school resource officer the teen ran over to Northwestern.
He then began punching the other student and knocked him to the ground.
The alleged assailant confirmed to the officer that he remembered getting out of his car and going over to the other student and then punched him. He also told the officer he “blacked out.”
