Report: Rock Hill pizza delivery driver robbed for cash

A contracted driver for a local pizza chain was robbed earlier this week while making his rounds, according to a York County sheriff’s office report.

The Ouzos Pizza driver was stopped at a red light on Celanese Road at India Hook Sunday evening when an unknown person approached the driver’s side and struck the victim in the left eye with his elbow, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report. The suspect then reached into the vehicle and pulled the emergency brake, the report says.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and said he wanted the victim’s wallet, the report states. The suspect took $80 and threw the wallet back into the vehicle, then fled on foot, the report states.

The York County Sheriff’s K-9 unit was called but could not locate a track.
