Report: Rock Hill man assaulted girlfriend after spying on her

A Rock Hill man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend after a recording device indicated she may have cheated on him.

The 25-year-old victim told police that her boyfriend, Jason Wadsworth, 26, came to their Riverview Road apartment from work Wednesday morning and accused her of cheating, according to a Rock Hill Police report. The woman said Wadsworth grabbed her by the pants and tried pulling them down during their argument, the report states.

The victim said he has a history of assaulting and recording her, the report states.

The suspect told police that he placed a recording device under the washing machine to get evidence of her infidelity. He confronted the woman after listening to the recording once he got home, the report states. He denied the assault claim, he told police. The two live together with their young child.

Wadsworth was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence, simple assault- first offense. He is held at the Rock Hill jail on a $4,000 bond.
