A Fort Lawn man was indicted Wednesday for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars from a federal agency over a 20-year period, according to the U.S.Attorney’s Office for the district of South Carolina.
Gerald W. Costner, 70, was indicted with one count of converting over $1,000 belonging to the Social Security Administration, a report states.
Costner allegedly embezzled almost $93,000 from June 1992 to January 2014, a court document states.
If found guilty, Costner could face a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.
