The manager of beauty supply shop in Rock Hill is accused of selling over $12,000 in counterfeit items at his store.
Rock Hill Police and other investigators met at the Discount Beauty Supply store on Saluda Street on Oct. 15 after learning of possible counterfeit goods being sold, a police report states. A detective confirmed that a controlled purchase of counterfeit Nike shoes was made on Oct. 14, the report states.
Authorities entered the store with the permission of manager Khalid Ziada. They found dozens of counterfeit items including Nike shoes and namebrand purses and wallets, the report states.
Investigators later confirmed the items were fake, and Ziada was arrested Monday morning on a counterfeit charge. He is held at the Rock Hill jail on a $6,000 bond.
