An intoxicated Rock Hill man is accused of choking another man during a mid-day fight over a lighter.
A 59-year-old man said Billy Weaver, 53, came into his yard on Whitner Street at about 2 p.m. Tuesday and accused him of taking his lighter. Weaver then grabbed the other man and started choking him, according to a police report.
An 84-year-old witness watched the assault from her front porch and called police.
When police arrived, Weaver was still on the scene and “visibly intoxicated,” the report states. Weaver, who had glassy eyes and slurred speech, was charged with disorderly conduct, fighting.
