$1,100 in tools stolen from Sears at Rock Hill Galleria

A man stole more than $1,100 in tools from the Sears at the Rock Hill Galleria.

On Tuesday between 1 and 2 p.m., an unknown man wearing a red short sleeve shirt and dark pants went into the Sears off Dave Lyle Boulevard, put three items in a cart, then walked out of the store, a Rock Hill police report states. The man placed the stolen items in the back of his 2000 Jeep Commander and drove away.

A loss prevention officer followed the car and was able to get the tag number, which belongs to someone who lives in Kershaw.

The thief took two 334-piece mechanic hand tool sets and a gas-powered chain saw with a combined value of $1,115.

Security footage was given to officers investigating the case.
