34 diamond rings worth $13K stolen from Rock Hill Walmart

Two men acted as lookouts this week while another man reportedly stole 34 diamond rings from the Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard in Rock Hill.

An employee noticed the jewelry theft around 7 a.m. Tuesday when he started his morning shift.

He notified the manager, who pulled up surveillance video that shows three men in the store around 4:20 a.m. Two men stood watch and the third leaned over the jewelry counter and tampered with the lock before stealing $13,200 in diamond rings, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The men put the jewelry inside a bag they picked up from the store’s accessories section.

They left the store one at a time, and all got into a light-toned Pontiac.

Police were able to lift several fingerprints.

Surveillance video was turned over to police, and the investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rock Hill Police Department at 803-329-7203 or Crime Stoppers of York County at 1-877-409-4321.
