Rock Hill student brought BB gun to elementary school, police say

A student at Ebinport Elementary School brought a BB gun to school Tuesday morning, according to police and a Rock Hill Schools official.

School district spokesman Mychal Frost said the BB gun was not loaded and the student didn’t threaten anyone.

Frost said the student told other students about the BB gun, and administrators searched the student’s backpack.

An Ebinport Elementary parent told The Herald they received an automated phone call informing them a BB gun had been found at the school.

Frost said the student has been disciplined, but would not disclose the specific disciplinary action or other details.
