A Fort Mill man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for a “crime spree” in late 2016 that included a joyride in a stolen van, shooting into a business and stealing $15 in change from a dentist’s office, prosecutors said.
Gary Crockett, 42, pleaded guilty last week to burglary, malicious damage to property, grand larceny and breaking into a vehicle, said Aaron Hayes, 16th Circuit assistant solicitor. The spree of crimes happened in late September and October 2016, Hayes said.
Crockett broke into a dentist office and stole money, Hayes said. He also stole a van from a work site, and shot into a business, he said. In the car break-in, Crockett stole a gun, Hayes said.
In the dentist office theft, Crockett stole $15 in change, he said. After stealing the van, Crockett wrecked the vehicle, prosecutors said.
