Police: Undercover agent busts Rock Hill man seeking sex with girl, 14
An undercover Rock Hill Police detective helped authorities arrest a man accused of trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex this weekend.
The detective created an online persona and posed as a 14-year-old girl. The detective then corresponded with a man for about three weeks using e-mail and text messages, according to a police report.
The man, believing he was talking to a girl, sent an explicit video of himself. He then asked to meet the girl so they could have sex, the report states.
The man showed up to the meeting spot on Cherry Road late Friday, when police arrested him.
Hector Manuel Perez-Malave, 29, is charged with attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating obscene material to a person under 18, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and criminal solicitation of a minor, according to police records.
