Students at Cotton Belt and Harold C. Johnson elementary schools got a noisy treat this week, when performing artist Billy Jonas visited both schools to put on a show with his “Re-Percussion,” instruments.
All of Jonas’ instruments are made with recycled materials, like buckets and large bottles.
Jonas’ performances Tuesday were funded by a Target Arts Grant, which also provided funding for students to make their own recycled instruments and read and write about “sound concepts” and Jonas.
